Gene D. Robinson III, Esq. has been practicing law for 17 years. He is frequently named a Best Lawyer®, by U.S. News and World Report, a Super Lawyer® by Thomson Reuters, and Legal Elite by Virginia Business Magazine. Gene serves as the Assistant Commissioner of Accounts for the Arlington County Circuit Court . He is also the General Receiver for the Arlington County Circuit Court. In addition, he currently serves as Treasurer of the Arlington County Bar Association.
Gene limits his practice to Estate Planning, Probate, and Elder Law. He places a particular emphasis on Guardianship and Conservatorship work. He frequently represents individuals seeking Guardianship or Conservatorship of a loved one. He also defends the individuals that are the subject of these cases. Gene is also frequently personally appointed to serve as the Guardian and Conservator of incapacitated adults when an experienced, professional Guardian or Conservator needed. Gene also frequently serves as Power of Attorney, Trustee, Administrator or Executor when a client wishes to have a professional fiduciary serve in these positions.
In addition to practicing law, Gene is a Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP)® practitioner. He worked as a trust officer and wealth management advisor for six years before going to law school.
Gene is a 2007 graduate of the University of Florida, Levin College of Law, where he was the Managing Editor of the Florida Journal of International Law. Gene received an Executive Certificate in Financial Planning from Georgetown University in 2003 and a Bachelor of Science in Speech Communication from James Madison University in 1999.
Gene is a proud native of the Shenandoah Valley, Virginia, where he served as an Infantryman for six years in the Harrisonburg Company of the 29th Light Infantry Division of the Virginia Army National Guard. Gene is married to an active-duty Surgeon in the United States Army who has deployed to Afghanistan supporting our U.S. Special Forces. They have two daughters, age 5 and 7.
